Lonavala:-

Lonavala is one of the top hill stations in Maharastra state. Lonavla is situated in Maval taluka, which is in the Pune district. Lonavala is 622 meters far from Sea level. Lonavala comes in Sahyadri Rangeland’s tenure. Monsoon is the best time to visit  Lonavala. In the Rainy season, the Sahyadri range looks like the land cover by green color.

Many tourists come here from the first rain means from June, by the way, you can go here in any season but the real enjoyment is in the rainy season. If we talk about famous sweet then Lonavala chikki is the most famous sweet in Maharashtra and Specially Maganlal chikki. Many resorts are there to stay and also luxury resorts also in there. Lots of tourists come for one day trip and many tourists come for trekking and come to see caves in Lonavala.

How to Reach:-

By Airport:-

If you come from out of Maharashtra then only you can choose this option. Pune Airport is the nearest airport for Lonavala , which is 70km far from Lonavala. You can hire a taxi or go by bus to Lonavala from Pune station.

By Train:-

The train is the best option to travel. Pune and Mumbai are the best obtain to reach Lonavala. Lonavala is 60 km far from Pune and 85km from Mumbai. You can easily get a local train from Pune Station. Basically, Lonavala is also a railway station so you can easily get a train for Lonavala.

By Road:-

This another option, you can reach with your own vehicle or bus. Volvo buses are available from Mumbai and Pune. Lonavala is situated on the Mumbai-Pune expressway. You can choose a new highway or an old highway but if you are going by two-wheeler then it does not allow for a new Mumbai-Pune highway.

1)   Bhushi Dam:-

In Lonavala 1st place to must visit is Bhushi dam. The Bhushi Dam is a picnic destination for tourists. Bhushi Dam is 6 km from the main Lonavala market.  some local Transport available to reach Bhushi Dam from Lonavala Station or you can also go on walking. There are many waterfalls on the way to bhushi dam and also the Lonavala dam you can see.  There are paid parking facilities near bhushi dam. Take a walk of 5 min to go bhushi dam from parking. Time schedule of the bhushi dam is 9.00 am to 3.00 pm, after 3.00 pm police don’t allow entry for the bhushi dam.

Bhushi Dam is a masonry dam that is built in the 1860s for the Great Indian Peninsular Railway. When it rains a lot, the dam fills up and starts flowing but be aware there are many accidents happen here. There are many stairs to flow water from the dam and you will have fun here. There are many shops near bhushi dam where you can have breakfast and meals. A little further on the bhushi dam, there is the waterfall. This waterfall is the main source of the bhushi dam.

2)   Sunil’s Wax Museum:-

Sunil Wax Museum is a museum of wax statues where are the statue of celebrities and politicians. Sunil’s Wax Museum is 600 meters away from Lonavala Railway Station. Tourists come from far to see this museum. Time schedule of the wax museum is 9.00 am to 9.30 pm. Entry fees of this museum are ₹ 200 for adults and if children are below 5 years then free for them. They have also created gaming zones for small children for this gaming zone you have to pay ₹ 100 per 30 min.

The wax statues are beautifully crafted and all these statues seem to be real. In this museum, many national and international Films stars, political celebrities, sports stars around 150 celebrities are there. You can finish the tour in 30 min.

3)   Rajmachi Fort:-

There are many forts in Lonavala in that Rajmachi fort is one of them. Rajmachi Fort is famous for trekkers. Many mountaineers come here for trekking. This fort can be seen between Khopoli and Lonavala on the Pune-Mumbai highway. Rajmachi Fort is 17 km far from Lonavala Railway Station and is situated at the height of 2710 feet from sea level. You can hire a taxi or private cab to reach Rajmachi Fort. On 26 April 1909, the government of India declared Rajmachi fort as a National Protected Monument in Maharashtra.

Rajmachi Fort must be around 2500 years old. Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj won this fort after the invasion of Kalyan in 1657 and after 1818 the fort passed to the British. On Rajmachi fort, there are two bastions, Manoranjan, and Shrivardhan. For those who love mountain trekking and fort trekking, Rajmachi Fort is the best place.

4)   Kamshet Paragliding:-

Paragliding is such a thrilling sport. The Kamshet is the best and top destination of paragliding sport in India. Kamshet Paragliding is located in kamshet which is a small town. Kamshet railway station is the nearest railway station to reach paragliding. If you are coming from Pune then Lonavala local is the best and if you are coming from Mumbai then can come to Lonavala then you can catch Pune local. This paragliding is 3 km far from Kamshet Railway station, you can book a cab or taxi from Station.

October to May is the best time to fly here. This point is 860 meters above sea level. First of all mandatory to fill declaration form. Every kind of paragliding happens here like Tandem, Solo, Acrobat. Paragliding cost is between  ₹1800- ₹3000 it depends on flight duration. If you want to rent  GoPro then you have to pay an extra ₹1000. If you come there as a tourist then you must visit this place.
